Livingston businesses, outdoor enthusiasts, and community organizations are collaborating to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Park and Sweetgrass Counties (BBBS) at the 4th Annual Greater Livingston Outdoor Adventure Toy Swap (GLOATS) Saturday, May 6, 2017, at the Park County Fairgrounds from 10 am – 5 pm. GLOATS is free and swap attendees will be eligible to win over $500 in gift certificates plus receive discounts from the many participating sponsors so it’s also a great opportunity to shop and dine at many of Livingston’s finest establishments.
Get great deals on fishing, camping, skiing, hiking, biking, boating and equine tack gear and a percentage of all sales will go to BBBS. Take the opportunity to clean out your garage and consign your outdoor adventure toys at GLOATS to make room for the updated gear you’ll find at the swap. Consign quality gear for a $1 an item and drop off at Timber Trails, 309 West Park Street, or Spur Line, 1370 Hwy 10 West, May 2 – 4 during business hours and on May 5 at the Fairgrounds 12 pm - 7 pm. No gear drop off on May 6 and pickup of unsold items is from 3 – 5 pm on swap day. Any unsold item not picked up by 5 pm on Saturday, May 6 becomes donated property. Note: GLOATS cannot accept for sale: firearms, used baby/toddler carriers, helmets, ammo, or fuel canisters.
A special edition this year: The Community Closet is donating a Winnebago to be sold through silent auction, starting at $100 with bids in $100 increments, ending at 2 pm. Credit Cards and cash only, no checks for this RV. All proceeds from the sale of this 1994 “Minnie Winnie” 29-foot-long RV will benefit BBBS. The community supported the purchase of this RV as a mobile fashion unit and now that the Community Closet has grown out of it, CEO and Founder Caron Cooper wants to give it back to the community. The Minnie Winnie has 40,800 miles on it, is in great shape and fully equipped. It has automatic transmission, cruise control, power steering, trailer hitch, stereo, patio entertainment center, exterior luggage rack, and ladder. Equipped with a heater and air conditioning, television, water heater, water tank, couch, extra pull-out twin bed, kitchen with double door fridge/freezer, range with oven, double stainless steel sinks, microwave and coffee maker, dinette, couch, room divider, marine toilet, shower, and large back bedroom with queen bed and storage. Carly Colgan, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Park and Sweet Grass Counties says, “I was very excited to hear that Community Closet would be donating an RV to BBBS. Their support plus the continued great work from Timber Trails in putting everything together for GLOATS will ensure that this will be a wonderful event. As a local organization, we rely on the businesses in our community to help us continue our programs, and are so grateful for Timber Trails and Community Closet.”
