Each year, Gallatin Valley Land Trust volunteers celebrate National Trails Day by helping build and maintain the Main Street to the Mountains trail system. This year the event will take place at Highland Glen Nature Preserve on Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 8:30 – noon.
Volunteers will be working on a variety of trail enhancement projects on the Highland Glen single track trails.
This event is free and open to the public. People of all ages and abilities are welcome. Volunteer registration begins at 8:30 am at the corner of Ellis and Highland across from the Softball Complex. Plenty of free parking is available at the Softball Complex parking lot. Work crews will head out around 9:00 am. Projects wrap up and lunch served at 12:00 pm, courtesy of Yellowstone Bank.
Volunteers should come prepared with sunscreen, water, layers for weather, sturdy shoes, hat and gloves. GVLT will have some tools but additional shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows will be helpful. Please make sure to label any tools you bring from home. If you would like to volunteer as a group, please contact GVLT at firstname.lastname@example.org or 406-587-8404 at least 48 hours prior to the event.
