The legendary cowboy singing group SONS OF THE PIONEERS appear at The Ellen, Sunday, May 8 at 7:30 PM. Members of the Country Music Hall of Fame, the band is praised by The Grand Ole Opry as “American icons known around the world for their trademark harmonies and haunting lyrics that tell the story of the American West.”
Formed in 1934, the band’s current lineup includes Dusty Rogers, son of original member Roy Rogers. People often comment how difficult it must be for Dusty to stand on stage in his father’s shadow and Dusty quickly responds, “As Roy’s son, it is not my job to stand in my father’s shadow. It IS my job to lengthen it, and that is what I try to do on stage every day.”
They’ll play original favorites like “Cool Water” and “Tumbling Tumbleweeds” and many other songs rooted deeply in wester lore!
“A Living Legend in their own time… and American institution.”
