The Bozeman Doc Series presents Dear Thirteen

On Thursday, January 12th, at 7pm at the Emerson Center, the Bozeman Doc Series continues with the Montana premiere of the critically acclaimed new documentary Dear Thirteen.

Far from the unfavorable images often espoused in pop culture, today’s teens are some of the most engaged, thoughtful, creative, courageous, and self-aware of any era. A portrait of a new generation, Dear Thirteen is a cinematic time capsule of coming of age in today’s world. With tenderness and candor, the film chronicles the lives of nine thirteen-year-olds from across the globe as they navigate the joys and complexities of that seminal age.

Dear Thirteen world-premiered this fall at the prestigious DOCNYC Film Festival in New York.

"Equal parts funny and emotionally affecting [a] fantastic array of subjects...[and] a product from a team of artists attuned to the power of images." Film Threat

“Offers poetic evidence that humanity is indeed universal and borders are truly artificial.” Women Make Movies
