Lysistrata

It's 411 B.C., in an effort to stop the seemingly endless wars between Athens and Sparta, one woman convinces Greek women to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers as a way to force a peace negotiation. This classical Greek comedy is legendary for its timeless take on the battle of the sexes and laugh-out-loud physical comedy. Its conversations around frustrations with leadership, hunger for peace, the want of autonomy, and the struggles within a relationship are hidden in the jokes, and keep this piece of theater surprisingly relevant 2,000 years later.
