Bent Wire

Artist Statement:

I work with simple forms to create hanging kinetic sculptures that come alive through balance, tension, and motion. In the studio, each element is bent, balanced, and suspended. I make small corrections until the mobile holds its own structure. When it moves, it does so quietly. Air shifts; the sculpture responds. The motion is spare, deliberate, never repeated. The mobile stays in a state of ongoing balance, defined by what is present and what has been removed. Quiet in its motion, it remains always there and available for contemplation.

Bio:

Initially captivated by materials, forms and landscapes I graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Architecture and have had a career in designing and building luxury homes in Montana. Today my artistic output includes my fascination with making sculptural mobiles that explore balance, movement, and spatial tension. Influenced by Alexander Calder’s kinetic abstraction, the organic modernism of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the atmospheric minimalism of Peter Zumthor, merging architectural clarity with expressive material craft. My work emphasizes proportion, shadow, and the quiet choreography of suspended forms.
