Job Description: EVENING Tea-Barista Shift Lead Full-Time Option: 30 – 40 hrs per week, Monday through Friday Part-Time Option: 15-20 hrs per week, Tues through Thurs. *Evening shift time frame is between 3p-10p “On Call” component: “on call” and the first to be called for emergency daytime shift covers on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday each week. Requested Start Date: Monday, January 31st, 2022 Starting wage: Hourly, $13 per hr. plus tips (average hourly tips are about $4 per hour, so including tips, you’ll make $17 per hour starting wage). Wages will be paid during training period, tips during training will be allocated according to manager’s discretion depending on type of work completed on training days. Raises: wage increase of up to $0.50 per hour every 6 months (total $1 increase per year), based on performance review. Base wages for this shift lead position caps at $19 per hour (so, when you reach the cap you would be making about $23 per hour if you include tips). Evening Shift Lead Duties: Everything listed below as Tea Tender Duties – the shift lead works as a tea tender but also as team captain with extra responsibilities and in a leadership role. All the Tea Tender duties need to be performed as usual, in addition to these special tasks: Flexibility and availability to communicate with managers about assisting with covering shifts for sick or MIA staff on short notice Provide guidance, delegation and instruction to tea-tender staff in regards to all duties and expectations in real-time while on shift together as needed Reviewing staff food/drink log and tips log, sending pastry count and tip report to manager each evening End of day inventory of supplies and merchandise, communicating with Manager about supplies needed for the next day End of day double check of all closing duties and aesthetic presentation of store cleanliness and preparation for the morning, communication with the Opener and Day Shift Lead about supply shortages which will be addressed by Manager and other need-to-know information for their morning shift End of day closing register Regular communication and weekly meetings with both day-time shift lead and managers about staff performance, systems needs, policies and procedures, customer satisfaction, and overall operation health and success Complete manager level serv-safe food handler training course, materials and course will be paid for by Steep Mountain Tea, and time spent studying and taking class will be paid work time. Tea Tender Duties: Customer service: work with customers to inform them about the different teas we carry and answer questions that they may have about our tea and other products Cash register: take tea orders, conduct transactions with the ipad register Prepare tea drinks: develop an extensive knowledge of and palate for all of the teas on our menu and know how to properly prepare them Table Service: serve tea to seated customers Safely handle and serve food / baked goods / pastries Cleaning: kitchen, prep areas, and customer seating area as per food code standards and store policies Bussing and Washing dishes General restocking of various in-house beverage supplies throughout the day Opening and closing cleaning/prep duties/cash register Attentively, promptly, and with a positive attitude complete COVID cleaning and mask monitoring procedures as per the established protocols
