Big Sky Youth Empowerment (BYEP) is a nonprofit adventure-based mentoring program in Bozeman, Montana, that has served vulnerable youth in the Gallatin Valley for the past 21 years. BYEP offers a group social emotional life skills curriculum paired with outdoor adventures to youth in grades 7-12. BYEP was founded in 2001 with the intent of providing a creative solution to the lack of effective programming for teens. Our mission is to provide opportunities for vulnerable teenagers in the Gallatin Valley to experience success, and become contributing members of our community through group mentorship and experiential adventures. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as Marketing & Development Coordinator as the 2023 VISTA Summer Associate. The ideal candidate is an organized, motivated, and collaborative individual who is able to think critically and creatively. They are excited about the opportunity to become part of BYEP’s development team, and are ready to be a representative of BYEP’s core mission and values. BYEP is an exciting and multifaceted work environment in which every person is given agency to consciously co-create in the overall functioning and well being of the organization. The primary role of the Marketing & Development Coordinator is to assist in the development of BYEP’s Alumni Success Tracking project so we can learn more about the long term impacts of BYEP on participants’ lives. Tasks include establishing an alumni database, reaching out, and interviewing program alumni, as well as drafting narrative impact pieces. The 2023 VISTA Summer Associate will also assist in refining and maintaining data in BYEP’s customer relationship management (CRM) software, documenting BYEP program activities through photography, filming, narrative writing for story-telling, and helping run our social media. The 2023 VISTA Summer Associate begins on Monday, June 5, 2023, and ends Sunday, August 13, 2023.
