POSITION SUMMARY The Operations Director supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Operations Director provides supervision and development of program staff, and assists with organizational and financial operations at the Gallatin Valley YMCA. Operations Director is responsible, in partnership with the CEO and BOD for the strategic direction and success of the Gallatin Valley YMCA. Participates in program development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ● Establishes, with the YMCA leadership team, long range plans for the expansion of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA strategic objectives. ● Provides support and leadership to YMCA board committees as needed. ● Recruits, hires, trains, and directs employees and volunteers. Assists, reviews and evaluates staff performance throughout various departments of YMCA as directed by CEO. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. ● Develops, manages, and monitors assigned operating budgets to meet or exceed targets. Assures a balanced operation and submits reports to CEO on current operations. ● Assists with payroll management and accounts payable/receivable as requested by CEO. ● Leads and supervises program staff in developing high quality member engagement strategies and program enrollment to support the YMCA mission, goals, and strategies. ● Oversees facility repairs on items or systems needing attention in the absence of the CEO. ● Maintains ongoing evaluation of current services, recommends changes, and needs for new services. ● Consistently evaluates safety protocols, procedures and training for the all YMCA programs and locations, including rented spaces, and implements training procedures and programs to address current best practice safety standards in program areas. ● Serves as a member of YMCA management and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA. ● Partners with the board of directors and community leaders to ensure the Y is identifying and meeting community needs effectively. ● Perform other duties as needed or assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: ● Bachelor's degree in business administration, human services or related area; related graduate degree preferred. ● A minimum of three years broad management experience, preferably in the YMCA and/or not-for-profit sector, including strategic planning, program implementation/growth, and staff development. ● The Operations Director must understand the basic concept of non-profit management and the utilization of volunteers and staff to attain both strategic and operational goals. ● Commitment to the mission and core values of the Gallatin Valley YMCA as well as implementation of these values in all daily work activities is a necessity in this leadership role. ● Must possess high levels of self-motivation and leadership abilities. ● This position requires a demonstrated history of leadership in the areas of staff development, budget and fiscal management, financial development, and community development. ● Must be fully competent in member service and offer the optimal member experience. ● Ability to delegate appropriate responsibilities involved in day-to-day operations is essential. ● Must be able to capture detail and meet deadlines. ● Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office. ● Must be able to understand ActiveNetwork software systems, or be able to learn within 60 days of hire date. ● Certifications required within the first 60 days of hire: CPR Pro and First Aid. ● Ability to work with integrity, discretion and a professional approach. ● YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
