A Watershed Moment Author's Panel on Land Use and Planning
Bozeman Public Library

Community Events
September 3, 2025 @ 5:30pm - 7:00pm

C-STES, the Ivan Doig Center, and the American Studies Program are co-sponsoring a community event called A Watershed Moment: The American West in the Age of Limits (based on the recently published volume with that title that was edited by Evelyn Brister, Robert Frodeman, and Luther Propst). They have invited two of the editors (Bob and Evelyn) along with two local Bozeman authors with chapters in the volume (rural sociologist Kristal Jones and journalist/author Todd Wilkinson) to discuss the themes of the book – the myth of the West and the local (unsustainable) impacts that this myth has had both ecologically and socially.

There will be a public panel discussion of the book at the Bozeman Public Library, Wednesday, September 3rd at 5:30 pm. Please mark your calendars and encourage your students to come, as it should be an excellent discussion hosted by Dr. Kristen Intemann and the newly minted director of the Doig Center, Dr. Daniel Grant.
