The Downtown Bozeman Association, Downtown Bozeman art galleries, and retailers and the Emerson Center for Art and Culture are proud to present this summer’s Downtown Bozeman Art Walks. The Art Walks occur on the 2nd Friday of the month; June through September and again for our “Winter” Art Walk in December from 6 to 8PM in Downtown Bozeman. The businesses and galleries generally feature artists’ openings and receptions during the event and often provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.  The remaining 2016 Art Walks are: August 12, September 9 & December 9.

  • Alara Jewelry is kicking off Alara Jewelry's three-day Alex Sepkus Trunk Show Event (August 12th-August 14th), showcasing over one hundred jewelry pieces by world-renown artist & designer, Alex Sepkus. His unmistakable 18 karat gold and platinum designs evoke the feel of ancient treasures, Byzantine churches, and the works of Gustav Klimt. Join us in welcoming Alex Sepkus's representative, Richard Kasdin, as he shows off the spectacular collections throughout the weekend and provides personal insight on the man behind each dazzling jewelry piece. 
  • Altitude Gallery is featuring Bozeman artist Rachel Pohl grew up skiing, climbing, and adventuring in Montana’s wildest places as well as drawing and painting constantly. Her vibrant, wildly colorful landscapes are snapshots in paint of the places she loves to explore. Rachel recently starred in an Imax movie about our National Parks with fellow outdoor adventurers Conrad Anker and Max Lowe. As we celebrate 100 years of National Parks, new work featuring scenes from the Bozeman area as well as wildernesses further afield will be on display at Altitude Gallery. Rachel will also be doing a live painting demonstration during the Art Walk.
  • The Artshoppe features an array of art throughout the year.
  • Artists’ Gallery is featuring artists Grace Dyk and Geri Ward. Grace Dyk takes a realistic approach as she focuses on the words to “America the Beautiful” by Katharine Lee Bates.  She has painted a few phrases of Bates’s poem using oils to explore the natural beauty of the Gallatin Valley landscape. Ward’s show is “The Cat’s Meow”, featuring mostly small size whimsical watercolors of cats.  Come by the gallery for a “paws that refreshes”, during the Art Walk from 5-8pm.
  • The Baxter Hotel is proud to present Homestead 89 Furniture Art & Design Gallery for the August Downtown Bozeman Art Walk. Homestead 89 is a collaboration of the most talented artists and craftsmen in Montana, boasting a wide array of handcrafted furniture, paintings, photography, sculptures, pottery and other art.
  • Bozeman Youth Initiative, Youth Art Show at Soroptimist Park,  The August Art Show is featuring over 20 young artists with mediums ranging from paintings, woodworking, jewelry, apparel, live music and more!
  • Cello is featuring a Kinross cashmere Trunk show as well as Tom Thornton, native Montana artist who enjoys traditional and inherited art of storytelling with word, image, and sculpture. Tom's paintings of Montana landscapes are currently on display at Cello Gallery.
  • Collective by dawn josephine is proud to feature jewelry design by store owner, Dawn Josephine.
  • Country Bookshelf will feature varied writers and book signings during the art walk season
  • CTA Architects Engineers is featuring a unique collection of art from Urbaine Home(lifestyle boutique) will be featured at CTA Architect Engineers for the August ArtWalk. Along with a contemporary sculpture by local artist Ferrous Wheel Design!
  • Dari Rasa Trunk Show is featuring varied artists and wordly treasures throughout the art walk season
  • Ecce Gallery featuring unique and eclectic art throughout the art walk season
  • Element by Westin Bozeman is proud to present works by local artist and gallery owner Loretta Domaszewski,
  • ERA Landmark is pleased to announce that  artist Char Banach will be featured at ERA's downtown Bozeman office during the August and September 2016 Art Walks. Join us in a fun environment along with complimentary refreshments.
  • Four Winds Gallery will be featuring Susan Stewart’s new mixed media works and beadwork jewelry. An Art Walk Reception will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday the 12th. A member of the Crow Nation, Susan Stewart said, “As is often the case with artists situated in the mainstream of the contemporary Native North American art movement, I wear an array of different artistic hats.” She is variously a painter, printmaker, installation artist, performance artist, video artist, arts administrator, curator, and self-avowed community activist. “The focus in all of these areas is the articulation of life as a contemporary native North American”, said Stewart.
  • The Foundry is featuring local artist Kyra Schmidt.
  • Gem Gallery is featuring photography by Allan Hathaway Photography. Artist reception from 6-8 PM. Amazing photography of starry nights and Yellowstone Park.
  • Hattie Rex is featuring Montana photographer Nicole Keintz.
  • Head West is featuring various artists throughout the art walk season.
  • Indulgence Beauty Bar is featuring Nathalie Woods, an illustrator and graphic artist. Born in France, Nathalie Woods studied at the School of Theatre and the Visual Arts and the School of Decorative Arts in Paris.
  • Jessie Wilber Gallery (including the Emerson Weaver Room and the Emerson Front Lobby) The Weaver Room is featuring Carol Hartman’s show titled, Challenges.  A Montana native, Hartman creates large square colorful oil landscape paintings on cradled Royal Birch panels. She finger paints instead of using brushes, which allows her a significantly closer relationship with her art. Carol creates this art to honor the history and incredibly beautiful landscape of Montana. The Jessie Wilber Gallery will feature Gordon McConnell, a Colorado Native who first visited Montana in the 1960’s and was inspired by the historically haunted and wildly romantic places from the Little Bighorn to Yellowstone. Like early twentieth century illustrators, McConnell derives much of his imagery from photographic sources and is particularly drawn to classic black and white. The Lobby Gallery will showcase an Emerson Tenant Exhibit featuring the work of: Dana Aaberg, Bille Rose Agee, Susan Dabney, Loretta Domaszewski, David Hutchison, Duncan Kippen, Mike O’Connell, Jessica Palmer, Angela Prond, Robert Royhl, Kelly Sullivan, Kara Tripp, Cherlyn Wilcox and Rod Zullo. The Emerson is proud to build community while promoting arts and culture.
  • The LARK is featuring some of Bozeman’s finest local artists –  Seth Neilson, Christian Schultz, and others – whose infographics are featured throughout the hotel. Enjoy the latest styles from Moda Fashion Truck, live music on the patio and handcrafted tacos and Genuine Ice Cream at Victory Taco.
  • Legacy Gallery is featuring new works by Gary Lynn Roberts. Show is titled, “One Man Show.” Gary Lynn Roberts, being a story-teller, welcomes you into his canvas. His love of horses, rodeo and art has enhanced him as a Western artist to develop a style of realism and impressionism.  Gary Lynn is honored to be a member of the C.M. Russell Museums' "Skull Society" of artists. He is the recipient of several awards from different museums for “Best of Show” and “Peoples’ Choice”.  He currently resides in Hamilton, Montana with his wife Nancy and their two children. 
  • Lockhorn Cider House is featuring nature artist Greg Bombeck.
  • MaYarising is featuring artist Martijn Caspar Swart was born in Holland, grew up in Bozeman, nutured his skills in Seattle, and now burns with a creative passion! From the beginnings of reckless creations in acrylic to sophisticated academic oils this show spans fifteen years of artistic development!
  • Meridian Boutique is featuring Stacy Townsend of Townsend Collective. She will be showing both photography and Jewelry.
  • Miller’s Jewelry is featuring their Annual Estate Jewelry Show. This year will be the 7th annual event. As usual, we'll be displaying a large selection of estate jewelry brought to Bozeman from around the country -- period pieces, pre-owned designer goods, heirloom jewels... Complimentary wine will be offered to our guests during the Art Walk (between 6 & 8pm) from The Wine Gallery. People will also have the opportunity to sell any heirloom items with which they might be willing to part, too.   • Montana Gift Corral is featuring sculptures and resin cast pieces by Big Sky Carvers, including realistic-looking bronze and driftwood reproductions. Big Sky Carvers heart and soul is the great outdoors. From their founders, Eric and Marc Pierce, to their family of resident and contributing artists, this passion to share all things wild and wonderful runs deep and strong like our rivers in Montana.
  • Old Main Gallery will be featuring Keith Anderson, artist & architect.
  • Revolvr Menswear is featuring local artist Hannah Uhde
  • Sacks Thrift of Bozeman, a program of Help Center, Inc., will continue Bozeman High School Art Club’s upcycling projects during Art Walk. Students have taken Sacks merchandise and turned it into art to donate back to Sacks to help fund Help Center, Inc. programs such as the 24-hour Crisis & Suicide Prevention line, 406-586-3333, Sexual Assault Counseling Center, and more.   • Sassy Sisters is featuring various artists throughout the art walk season.
  • Schnee’s is featuring various artists throughout the art walk season.  They will have a reception and refreshments
  • Style A Gallery is featuring the “Star Wars Show” with new works by Will Hunter.
  • Sundog Fine Art is pleased to a variety of Native American art and artists
  • Tripp Studio is featuring original palette-knife oils by artist Kara Tripp, as well as Encaustics, Ceramics and Jewelry by local artists.
  • Visions West Gallery is featuring “Forgotten” by Rocky Hawkins
  • Windermere Bozeman-Downtown is featuring photographer Dan Goodman,

While you stroll from gallery to gallery, you will also be able to enjoy live jazz and rock music played by young musicians from the area. The opportunity to support these budding young musicians during the Art Walks is brought to us by donations from First Security Bank and Blackfoot Communications.  You can find these artists, ensembles and/or bands at the following rotating locations: First Security Bank, Ellen Theatre, Soroptimist Park and the Emerson
