Fermentana is bringing Bozeman a 3rd round of Beer Maven in 2020 - this time with our new partner, SHINE Beer Sanctuary + Bottle Shop!
As Montana’s first female-only beer event series, Beer Maven offers women the opportunity to expand and develop their beer knowledge through a variety of exciting beer tastings and fun, educational discussions with guest industry speakers.
Our 3rd annual series will be hosted at the newly-opened SHINE Beer Sanctuary + Bottle Shop in downtown Bozeman during the months of February, March, and April. Similar to past years, 10% of proceeds from tickets sales from this event series will be donated back to HAVEN, a Bozeman-based nonprofit which offers support to women and families affected by domestic violence.
Event #1: For the Love of Dark Beers
Date: February 25th from 6-9pm
Tickets: $35/person
What to expect: Sometimes all dark beers get grouped together, when in fact, there’s a whole other world of dark beers out there to enjoy beyond your standard stout or porter! For this class, we’ll dive deep into the ingredients that make the many dark beer styles distinct from one another. By the end, you’ll be able to navigate that big dark winter beer list at your favorite bar like a breeze.
Event #2: Malt vs. Hops Showdown
Date: March 31st from 6-9pm
Tickets: $35/person
What to expect: Hops often steal the show, but can they compete with malt? Join us for a unique twist on a class that’s a deep dive into these two essential beer ingredients and how they work together… or not. Is it a game? Is it a class? Is it a little of both? To be determined. Regardless, it will be fun!
Event #3: Explore the World of Lagers
Date: April 28th from 6-9pm
Tickets: $35/person
What to expect: We tend to associate the word “lager” with light crisp beers, but that’s not always the case! Lagers come in all colors and ABVs but sometimes get lost behind the big macro crispy bois on the store shelf. In this class, we’ll break down lager stereotypes and layout the cold hard facts why trying a varied assortment of lagers from near and far. Get ready to expand your beer horizons!
Individual tickets for each event in the series (limited to 25 people each) are $35 per class. Tickets include entrance to the event, beer samplers, and light snacks. A special Beer Maven Pass, which includes entrance to all three events, is also available for $95 each. Only 10 of these special three-event passes are available. Must be 21+ to attend.
