Gallatin Valley Flutes and Friends Benefit Concert

A concert event benefitting the Montana Flute Association's upcoming performance at the National Flute Convention! Musical performances, a silent auction, and a handmade craft market of items created by our members! All proceeds go to support the travel and cost of attendance of our community members to perform at the National Flute Convention in Portland, OR this August! Silent Auction and Craft Market begins at 1pm in the Howard Hall (music building) lobby. Concert begins at 2:30pm, suggested ticket donation of $15 at the door. Cash, Paypal, Credit Card, and Check accepted- tax deductible! Concert to include performances by MSU flute students, members of the Gallatin Valley Flute choir (Bozeman regional chapter of the Montana Flute Association), MSU and Bozeman area harp students, and MSU professors Dr. Katie Mess- flute ,Dr. Gregory Young- clarinet, Dr. Ben Fuhrman- harmonica and music technology, and Karen Kirk- harp The Montana Flute Association is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to bringing music education, outreach and performance opportunities to flutists of all ages and ability levels in the state of Montana. Our members range from middle school students to 80 year old enthusiasts and everything in between! Our association is made up of regional community flute choir chapters across the state and this August, we have the historic opportunity to bring 40+ flutists to perform at the National Flute Convention in Portland, OR. This will mark the first occasion where a group from Montana has been featured on this prestigious stage in front of flutists from across the country and around the world! To make it even more special, we are presenting a program of music exclusively composed by Montanans, including two premiere arrangements and a world premiere work we commissioned just for the occasion. Not only is this an opportunity for us to represent all the wonderfully talented musicians of Montana, but it serves as an educational and networking opportunity for all our members.
