Aufguss is a traditional European sauna ritual that elevates the heat experience into a multisensory art form. An Aufgussmeister pours water and pure essential oils over superheated sauna stones, generating bursts of aromatic steam (löyly). Using choreographed towel waving, rhythmic movement, and curated music, they circulate the heat throughout the room, creating an invigorating thermal wave that promotes deep sweating, circulation, and mental clarity.
