The Basics of Wellness and Resilience is the first of three sessions in the Mental Health in Practice series. Guided by expert counselors and staff from MSU Counseling & Psychological Services, these one-hour weekly sessions will guide you towards better self-care, community building, and how to connect with support resources in the area. You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. Details below: The Basics of Wellness and Resilience: July 14, 6:00 - 7:00 pm An introduction to mental health and stress awareness, exploring the factors that influence personal well-being. Topics include recognizing helpful and unhelpful stress, supporting improved lifestyle habits, and building sustainable self-care practices. Coping with Life's Challenges: July 21, 6:00 - 7:00 pm Exploring signs of distress and developing coping skills. Learn and practice strategies for managing stress, building resilience, and reaching out for support when needed. Understanding Suicide Risk, Prevention, & Resources: July 28, 6:00 - 7:00 pm Recognizing suicide warning signs, risk and protective factors, and how to respond when you or someone else may be at risk. Learn about support strategies and available resources for assistance when in crisis.
