Six Local Montana Artists

Lyn St. Clair (Livingston) - Lyn’s wildlife work is based exclusively on her personal experience observing wildlife in its natural habitat. She spends countless hours in the field watching, sketching, and photographing the subjects of her paintings.

Cheri Dyk (Bozeman) - She found her love for the arts growing up in all the nature and sounds of Montana. Her earthy palette is complemented with pops of color and accented with gold and silver leaf, creating pieces that are dynamic, soulful and bold.

Thomas English (Big Timber) - Originally from Austin, Texas, Thomas English has been a Montana resident since 1991. English is an avid outdoor painter as well as a studio painter. He has participated in many shows throughout the United States and his work has been widely collected.

Harry Koyama (Billings) - His paintings reflect an attraction to the use of interesting texture and most of his work is done with the painting knife in combination with a bold color scheme. "Although accuracy is important, equally important is the human creative process which directly influences the work, something that cannot be created through mechanical means."

Allie Louise (Livingston) - Surrounded by endless fields to roam and horses, her childhood was a tapestry of nature’s wonders, hard work, and a deep connection to the world she was surrounded by. After taking the time to go to college on athletic scholarships and to study pre-med, Allie found the longing for a world of more creativity and exploration.

Shirle Wempner (Big Timber) - he has an instinctive approach incorporating colors in expressive ways that are unique to her, often using complimentary colors in dynamic patterns. Shirle’s paintings walk a fine line between abstraction and realism. Her powerful and expressive work is intended to draw the viewer in for an emotional response.
