The Downtown Urban Renewal District has revamped its grant offerings to better support investment, enhance public spaces, and encourage high-quality redevelopment in downtown Bozeman. The updated programs are designed to be more accessible and impactful, helping property owners, developers, businesses, and community partners move projects forward that enhance the downtown core. The three grant opportunities currently available include:
Arts, Placemaking and Safety Enhancement Grant Program
Supports projects that improve public spaces, promote safety, and add artistic or cultural elements to the downtown environment (examples: art installation, murals, safety enhancements and placemaking).
Public Infrastructure Grant Assistance Program
Provides financial assistance to help offset the cost of required public infrastructure improvements tied to redevelopment projects (examples: streetlamps, streets, public parking facilities, sidewalks, street trees, tree irrigation, fiber infrastructure, life-safety systems).
Technical Assistance Planning Grant Program
Offers funding for early-stage planning and technical services, including design and development support, to help projects move efficiently from concept to construction (examples: feasibility studies, cost estimates, historical inventory and research, UDC and building code analysis, building condition assessment).
Those interested in applying can find detailed program guidelines, eligibility requirements, and application materials on the Downtown Bozeman website. Prospective applicants are encouraged to connect with Downtown Bozeman staff for additional guidance.
